What can technologies do for global climate protection? What kind of technological innovations can we expect in the next years? How can we support innovative ideas without damaging the environment? Econsense decided to address these questions during its "In Dialogue 2008" conference, titled "Klimatech- Technologies for climate protection".

The conference took place in Berlin on 12th of November, 2008. The organizer was econsense (the Forum for Sustainable Development of German Business) a well-known network of economic, political and scientiffic experts. The participants discussed how new technologies are being introduced to the market and what technological trends can be expected in next decades and concluded that only environmental-friendly technological innovations can meet the increasing societal demands while still protecting the planet.

IHDP Executive Director Andreas Rechkemmer gave a presentation as a Key Note Speaker at the panel: "Klimatech 2050 - Visions for the future". Dr Rechkemmer presented the topic "Enabling Innovation: Socio-Technological Regime Shifts"
