Core Science Projects
IHDP presently has Five Core Science Projects:
- Global Environmental Change and Human Security GECHS
- Global Land Project GLP, (co-sponsored with IGBP)
- Industrial Transformation IT
- Land-Ocean Interactions in the Coastal Zone LOICZ, (co-sponsored with IGBP)
- Urbanization and Global Environmental Change UGEC
Core Science projects are conceptualized and supported by IHDP,
1. identify and generate new research activities in priority areas;
2. promote international cooperation; and
3. link policy-makers and researchers.
The projects are managed through International Project Offices located around the world. These offices are a central element in the implementation of the IHDP agenda.
