Global environmental change is driven, in large part, by human cultural and social approaches. Scientists have a fairly good understanding of what we humans do that impacts global change. We understand less about why we do these things, and very little about how to redirect societies towards more sustainable pathways. Key Questions What are the social and cultural dimensions of global environmental change? How might these dimensions change over time? What are the desired endpoints of any cultural and social change toward sustainability? |
