Finding and following the path to a sustainable future calls for leadership. Equipping, broadening, and strengthening a new generation of leaders in social science, decision-making, the media and general public is foundational to IHDP's approach. Applicable knowledge, and practical, hands-on solutions are growing in importance, calling for scientific leaders that can generate, assess and use knowledge in addressing global change issues. At the same time, both scientists and policymakes need to find common ground and shared forms of communication. IHDP's approach includes training, networking, research, and career opportunities with an inter- and multidisciplinary focus. It also incorporates policymakers from the beginning, ensuring a strong interface between both fields. Training future leaders helps us to ensure the sustainability of our research community and subsequently, our planet. |
