Pablo Muñoz is currently involved in the Inclusive Wealth Report (IWR) project, a joint initiative of UNU-IHDP and UNEP, aiming to measure, among other forms of wealth, the natural capital of nations. One of his major tasks in the project concerns the development of a wealth accounting system and its corresponding empirical measures for computing the wealth indicator. In his previous research, Dr. Muñoz was engaged in the study of societal metabolism of industrial societies by use of input-output models applied on a national and global scale. This work specially emphasized the direct and indirect environmental impacts of international trade and its relevance for a better understanding of the way consumption activities of one specific world region affect global ecological change.
