Urbanization and Global Environmental Change Project

The Scientific Steering Committee of the Urbanization and Global Environmental Change Project enthusiastically welcomes Corrie Griffith as the new Executive Officer. Corrie first joined the Urbanization and Global Environmental Change (UGEC) Project in May 2009 as Project Coordinator.  Now as Executive Officer (effective August 2012), she will develop and lead a diverse portfolio of research and outreach activities, and manage the International Project Office (IPO) in Tempe, Arizona. She has a Master’s degree in Political Science with a focus in Environmental Policy and brings to UGEC experience working with environmental nonprofits and city- and county-level governments on environmentally sustainable policies.  In addition to her work and research at local and regional levels, Corrie has a significant understanding and experience with the Global Change programs. Her knowledge and experience will be critical to UGEC as the Global Change community transitions to the new “Future Earth” research initiative.  Congratulations and welcome, Corrie!
